Biotechnology is a new science using living cells and materials produced by cells to create pharmaceutical, diagnostic, agricultural, environmental and other products to benefit society. It is both a cutting-edge technology and an applied science. Analysts have predicted that biotechnology will be one of the most important applied sciences of the 21st century. Students selected for this program must have a strong academic background, especially in science.
What you’ll learn:
Units studied will include Laboratory Safety, Cell Culturing, Laboratory Protocol Procedures, Technical Writing, Chemical Materials Handling and Safety, Microbiology, Bioinformaties, Computer Applications for Biotechnology, Biohazard Storage, Handling and Disposal, Chemistry and Advanced Biology.
